Installing Sherpa Process Discovery Agent on Alt Linux#

sudo privileges are required for installation.

1. Installing .NET Core 8#

Run the following in the terminal:

  • Log in with administrator rights:
su
  • Download the .NET installation script:
wget https://dot.net/v1/dotnet-install.sh -O dotnet-install.sh
  • Make the script executable:
chmod +x ./dotnet-install.sh
  • Install the SDK in the directory /usr/share/dotnet:
./dotnet-install.sh --channel 8.0 --install-dir /usr/share/dotnet
  • Open the system environment variable configuration file:
mcedit /etc/profile
  • In the file /etc/profile, before the line [ -n "$PATH" ], add:
[ -n "$DOTNET_ROOT" ] || DOTNET_ROOT="/usr/share/dotnet"
export DOTNET_ROOT
  • Before the line export PATH, add:
PATH="$PATH:$DOTNET_ROOT:$DOTNET_ROOT/tools"

After making changes, restart the computer.

2. Downloading and Running the Installer#

Run the following in the terminal:

  • Remove the old version of the installer:
rm -f SherpaPDAgent
  • Download the latest version of the installer:
wget https://downloads.sherparpa.ru/SherpaRPA/linux/ru/SherpaPDAgent -O SherpaPDAgent
  • Add execution flag to the file:
chmod +x SherpaPDAgent
  • Run the installer:
./SherpaPDAgent

You can download and run the installer with one command. It combines all the actions described above:

rm -f SherpaPDAgent && wget https://downloads.sherparpa.ru/SherpaRPA/linux/ru/SherpaPDAgent -O SherpaPDAgent && chmod +x SherpaPDAgent && ./SherpaPDAgent

3. Installing the Agent#

If the agent was previously installed, a window will appear with action options. Choose "Install" to update the agent or "Remove" to uninstall it.

If the installation is being performed for the first time or "Install" was selected in the previous step, a window with installation options will open.

In this window, you can:

  • create a shortcut on the desktop;
  • create a folder in the Start menu;
  • install the agent for the current user;
  • install the agent for all users.

Click the "Next" button.

In the next window, select the folder for installing the agent and click "Next" again.

After this, the installation will begin. Wait for the process to complete.

Upon completion of the installation, a final window will open. You can start the agent or open the agent settings.
